Rugby is more than just a sport; it is a community, a passion, and a way of life for many. It is always a joy for rugby up and coming stars to reach a new milestone. On August 21, 2025. Leon Best II was drafted in the second round by the New England Free Jacks.
Leon was selected for his keen knowledge of rugby and adaptability. Before joining the running eagles of Life University. Leon was a two time Western Province rugby star from Paarl Boys High School playing the position of Lock(#4). His u/16 team won the Grant Khomo week rugby for his division. He went on to graduate from the illustrious world renowned Paarl Boys High School in South Africa, best known for the largest Boys rugby event in the world.
Upon returning to the United States in 2021, he made appearances with Eagle Impact Rugby Association (EIRA), Life University (2022 - present) and U/20 USA Rugby Eagle team. He transitioned from playing the position of lock to tight head prop under the amazing coaching of Blake Bradford.
